arena, a global leader in the swimming industry, and the Italian Paralympic Swimming Federation (FINP), led by Roberto Valori, have signed a four-year agreement marking a new phase for Paralympic swimming and water polo in Italy.
The agreement, covering the entire Olympic cycle from 2025 to 2028, will enable arena and FINP to join forces to accelerate the growth and development of the Paralympic movement. This collaboration represents an important step in strengthening the values of inclusion and excellence, that define the Paralympic movement. Since 2009, FINP has focused extensively on all aspects of Paralympic athletes' sports lives and on promoting inclusivity, making swimming and water polo accessible to everyone.
“Looking ahead with renewed determination and enthusiasm, we are confident that with arena's support, Italian Paralympic swimming will continue to be an example of excellence, passion, and resilience. The upcoming challenges, with an eye on Los Angeles 2028, will be faced with the same spirit that has characterized our past successes, because arena and FINP are committed to growing the aquatic sports of the Paralympic movement,” said Roberto Valori, President of FINP.
The Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP) has assigned FINP with promoting and developing aquatic activities for athletes with disabilities, ensuring access to competitions and training opportunities. This includes individuals with physical or visual disabilities at any swimming level, as well as people with intellectual and relational disabilities, who have reached a high technical level in swimming to become part of FINP. Currently, there are 1,100 athletes in the physical and visual disability sectors, along with a small but growing sector for intellectual and relational disabilities.
FINP is a global reference point for Paralympic federations, demonstrating its value through extraordinary international successes. At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the Italian team won 16 gold medals, securing third place in the medal table and achieving a significant milestone in the history of Paralympic swimming.
The partnership with arena aims to achieve ambitious goals, bringing meaningful benefits to sports clubs, athletes, and FINP competitions. arena will provide the Italian Paralympic Swimming Federation with access to high-quality products, supporting clubs, teams, and athletes with cutting-edge equipment and swimsuits. Over the next four years, arena will supply the necessary technical apparel to best tackle the new challenges ahead.
arena and FINP share a common dream: to make it as easy as possible for children, young people, and individuals with disabilities to practice swimming, water polo, and other aquatic sports that may emerge during this four-year period.
“Our goal is to promote an active lifestyle through swimming and other aquatic sports,” says Giuseppe Musciacchio, Deputy CEO of arena. “It’s important that sports are accessible to as many people as possible. Becoming a partner of FINP, one of the most organized and successful Paralympic federations, allows us to take another step in the right direction. We are very proud to support such a strong team of athletes. The enthusiasm for this collaboration is immense and strengthens both of our commitments to sporting excellence, offering new opportunities for Paralympic events and initiatives. arena will be present at FINP events, creating a direct connection with athletes and stakeholders while showcasing the results, achievements, examples, stories, and values that distinguish FINP.”
