At first we thought this was perhaps not the best time to launch our new collection. But we were wrong.
We created the Warriors collection as a tribute to the world’s biggest sporting event, and to celebrate our swimmers who have given everything to be there. We wanted to help our athletes perform at their very best, and were inspired by the god of battle & victory in Asian Mythology (the Bishamon) to bring out their inner warrior.
2020 had different ideas – rather cruel ones, as it turned out – and so now we’ve moved our sights to 2021..
But these challenging months under lockdown & restrictions didn’t make us pessimistic, they gave us the time to realize something very important – we have much more to celebrate, to pay tribute to.
Millions of people have suffered this year – their own health, losing a loved one, seeing their jobs, their livelihoods slipping away – and one way or another just about everyone has been affected.
While many were forced to stay home – in some cases for a long time – others were not that fortunate, and had to work to keep our support systems going, helping the sick and tending to the dying. At great personal sacrifice, these people stepped up to the challenge, exposing themselves to risk, working hard through gritted teeth under difficult circumstances, all in the cause of just doing their very best for others.
With all this going on we realized that actually there couldn’t be a better time to launch this collection. And we dedicate it to all those that are still fighting, to all the true warriors amongst us that have emerged during these dark times.
May your own inner warrior emerge from this time, and may you always have the strength, the energy to keep fighting.
