Portland, Ore., (09/02/2024) - arena, the global swimwear company synonymous with manufacturing premium competitive and fitness swimwear, goggles, swim caps and equipment, has announced its newest additions to the elite athlete roster – the dynamic sister duo – Alex and Gretchen Walsh.
The Walsh sisters, both esteemed swimmers from the University of Virginia, are set to represent the arena brand through the 2024 Olympics in Paris, showcasing arena’s innovative race suits and equipment.

Alex Walsh
A powerhouse in the world of competitive swimming, Alex joins arena as a distinguished ambassador. Hailing from the University of Virginia, Alex is a 2020 Olympic silver medalist and a 2022 world champion in the 200 IM. With an impressive track record including five individual NCAA championships, Alex, has proven herself as a force to be reckoned with in the pool.
Starting her career at a young age, Alex’s ascent to an elite level was marked by breaking National Age Group (NAG) records and mastering all four strokes. Her success continued at the collegiate level, contributing significantly to the Virginia Cavaliers’ triumphs at ACC Championships and NCAAs.
In 2022-2023, Alex broke four NCAA records and secured ACC titles.
“I’m proud to officially be an arena athlete,” said Alex. “I have achieved some of my greatest dreams while racing in arena and I’m looking forward to seeing what I can keep achieving.”
Gretchen Walsh
The younger sister of Alex Walsh, Gretchen is a rising star who has already left an indelible mark on the swimming world. As a three-time individual NCAA champion and NCAA record-holder, Gretchen’s journey began with breaking National Age Group (NAG) records at just 12 years old.
Notable achievements include breaking the 22-second barrier in the 50 free, becoming the youngest female to do so. Gretchen’s success continued with multiple gold medals at the Jr. Pan Pacific Championships and outstanding performances at the 2019 World Junior Championships.
Gretchen’s impressive showing at the 2019 US Nationals, where she achieved personal bests and earned spots on the World Jr. Roster, solidified her status as a rising star in American swimming.
“I am so excited to announce that I am officially Team arena,” said Gretchen. “I’m so grateful to get to work with a group of people who care about and support me as an athlete and person. Wearing Arena always provides me with comfort and confidence during my races. Can’t wait to see what 2024 holds for me and arena.”
